The Balanced Score Card helps to communicate and implement Strategies

Where?    We decide on the goal for the development of our organisation.
What?
We select suitable strategic activities / measures to achieve the goal.
Who?
We determine who implements the measures(responsibility / motivation).
How?
Using appropriate benchmark figures, we can ascertain how effective our measures are.
When?
We operationally control the strategic process on the basis of a desired value – actual value comparison.

The 4 perspectives of the Balanced Scorecard

  • Financial Perspective: To succeed financially, how should we appear to our stakeholders?
  • Customer Perspective: To achieve our vision, how should we appear to our customers?
  • Business Process: To satisfy our stakeholders and customers, what business process must we excel at?
  • Learning and Growth: To achieve our vision, how will we sustain our ability to change and improve?
